I started Sonoma American Wine Bar in 2016 with the hope of creating a casual neighborhood wine bar in a style similar to wine bars found across the United States and Europe.  In such establishments, the focus is warmth, coziness, delicious beverages, traditional comfort foods, and reasonable prices.  A place where individuals, couples, or small groups can relax and enjoy an easy-going atmosphere at their own pace.  (I always felt that sharing a bottle of wine and a cheese board with a close friend is one of the best ways to spend time.)  As an American-themed wine bar I wanted patrons to experience new world wines, American craft beers, and classic spirits.  Through food, drinks, and atmosphere, I hoped to give customers a chance to spend some time in America without leaving Japan.

 

Although we are always a work in progress, I believe that in the years since opening the team at Sonoma has succeeded in creating a unique piece of American wine and pub culture right here in Nishinomiya.  So please stop by and give it a try!  Whether it's for a full dinner or just a drink after work, we are happy to have you over.  Chat with staff, hang out with friends, read a book - it’s all good here at Sonoma; a place where you can relax.
